Do What You Love, and it’s the PLAN that follows

        Do What You Love, Plan, Execute, then the Money Will Follow

I’m biting off a pretty big piece of meat here.  It’s a very involved subject.  I think a whole book could be written about it, but, we’re just gonna keep it short.  I’ll also keep it geared towards our industry, however, it’s implications are far and wide.

People love to say do what you love and the money will followI think the statement is incomplete, confusing, and misleading.  It should be Do What You Love, Plan, Execute, then the Money Follows.

LOVE

Let’s take the example that you love playing the guitar.  First, you need to master what you love.  Not all people that practice very hard at the guitar will become virtuoso’s.  I do believe with a lot of practice that most of us will become really good guitar players.  Just as I believe that with practice, many of us can become really good at an online specialty(business).

PLAN

   Being pretty good at something is where business takes over.  Now how many connections do you have for the business.  Who do you know?  Do you understand that you have to go out and meet like minded people.  You need to go out and find a band just like you need to find a supportive group for your online business.  So go network, your business will thank you for it.

Next, you have to market yourself.  You have to promote.  In the beginning nobody knows about you.  This is why everyone is in selling whether they like it or not.  People buy you the guitar player or support You and Your online specialty.

DO

This is the take action part of the formula.  The journey of 10,000 miles starts with one step.  Don’t be afraid to make mistakes.  Everybody makes them.  Execute your plan.  A great quote I read “Vision without Execution is Delusion”- Author Unknown  So get out there and start your business!

Taking this to our industry of traffic exchanges etc.  What do you love about it?  Do you love collecting Hot Bucks? Then how can you bring value to others to share in your passion?  Maybe you want to collect email addresses and tell them where the best places are to find them. Maybe you will explain the different kinds and the leader board contest. Perhaps you love traffic exchanges so much you want to start your own. If so read all about our journey here.

So you see there is a little more to it than just do what you love.

Turn People On Not Off – Your Brand with Value

Building your brand is a big deal to your business. But, instead of using the word brand and being vague, let’s define it.
I like to think of brand as presence. I also like to think brand is about recognizing value with YOU.

Now we can brand ourselves with a picture, name, logo, and/or video. A successful brand is one where it is seen and it is connected with strong value.

As a beginner, or relatively new person, I would suggest presenting your target audience with something of very specific value.

A broad subject you won’t have enough experience with and there is also competition in more general fields.  As a first project, you might be the master of the Legacyhits traffic exchange.  Your face, name, and/or video is seen all over connected with Legacyhits and you deliver a masterful understanding and break down of the traffic exchange’s features(the Value).

You back a good program, start to gain trust, your giving value, and then what?

Then you take on another small project or a little broader subject and the snowball of your success is on it’s way.

Did you know value has so many forms?  Have you thought of all these?
1. Clear, Easy to Absorb Information
2. Free Software, or after you have established trust, a paid software suggestion
3. Entertainment
4. Hospitality- Are you respectful, listen, and kind. That’s a value too!

When we become trusted and liked by providing value, then this in a way, grants us permission to make thoughtful suggestions that may lead to sales.

P.S. There is a community out there in traffic exchanges, participate in its chats, make connections in twitter, facebook, skype, and above all else provide value 🙂

Your Future, Our Future, the Industry’s Future

Note: If your a veteran this is a good refresher and you need to have the ability to help a new person if you are experienced anyway.

I keep thinking of the new person to the industry or the person still at the beginning of their business. How can we get them successful as soon as possible?

Let’s take a moment to define success: Meeting your first person online, adding a contact to twitter, facebook, or skype, getting your first signup to your List, making your first commission, getting your first payment, and on we go. Have you forgotten these if your a veteran?

I get the feeling that many people are in a hurry to make a lot of money. Is this you? We would all like to experience this. But if your new or still at the beginning for whatever reason(not experiencing success), stop just a second.

I want to cover how much you know and your abilities, but first, I want to tell you why and it’s a BIG WHY.

If you explore Traffic Exchanges, Mailers, and PTC’s then you will see the following:

1. Standard Affiliate Splash Pages, and/or pages without personal branding (lacking a picture and name) and/or big affiliate pages that are full sized, full of writing.

(1 is the worst possible choice)

2. Personally Branded Splash Pages. You can create your own at Adkreator.

(A better choice than 1)

3. A squeeze page that builds your list and enables you to guide people to programs.

(You get the system, 3 is better than 1 and 2)

4. A personally branded (your name and picture) on a squeeze page (a page that collects emails for your list).

5. Website Ownership

Now a BIG WHY of why the above is the way it is. Anyone with an intelligence of 80 or above can figure out how to do 1.  The problem with 1 is that people do not know who they are joining under nor are they given a reason to join you over another.

Number 2 is a better choice because you are not only advertising a program, but you are building your presence(business) as well.

Number 3 is a better choice because you set yourself up for repeat sales and communication.

Number 4 is obviously better because your adding in list building along with building your personal presence.

Number 5 is the strongest possible choice, but it requires the investment of time, money, and a little creativity.

Now it’s on YOU!  How much do you know, who do you know, and what do you have ability wise?  You see the more you know about the business your advertising, the more your known as someone that helps people, the more people you know and have influence with, the more you know about the industry in general, then the more attractive your advertisements and list become to join.  See how this all works together with the above?

This is why the picture, name, video presence, brand, and logo are all important.  It’s because of what was said above.

Now, let’s revisit the make a bunch of money in a hurry again.  Your not going to make a million dollars putting people into traffic exchanges and CSN unless you have access to a very, very large amount of advertising or very, very large list.  The amount of advertising we are talking about is much larger than the entire traffic exchange, mailer, and ptc industry.  The list size with responsiveness would have to be huge.

CSN gives you the ability to private message your downline which has alert by email.  We already discussed pages that have your facebook and twitter on it.  Also, right smack in the members area of CSN is you and your social networks.  The making a million dollars comes more from participating in the entire community and making contacts.  What evolves out of all the people growing and working together directly or indirectly, that is where the million dollars is made.  Putting something like that together takes time and/or money.  Probably more than many of you think.

A Creaspecue? CSV- Creative Specific Value- Same as Gold!

I was surfing through some traffic exchanges as I often do and was feeling pretty numb.  The ads were not that creative, I couldn’t seem to connect with the people that were advertising, and were they offering me value or just trying to redirect me somewhere.  Do they care about me as a customer/member?

I just get the feeling that many may be struggling to make a business out in this industry.  Let’s begin a possible why…  do they lack focus?  I think there are a lot of people that are taking this business on as individuals.  If that is the case, you can’t expect to act like a big company and provide what Google does.  Your strength will be in being SPECIFIC.  Another name for this is niche, but if someone is new, what the heck does niche mean 🙂  It is from something specific that smaller start ups can potentially build an empire.

You bring people into your circle of influence by having SPECIFIC VALUE.  In this industry, you might start with a dedicated squeeze page to capturing email addresses of people wanting info as to the best Hot Bucks Sites and how they work.  Another idea would be discussing how to win at CTP Teams.  By the way, if you going to run an auto responder series the suggested tool is Rocket Responder.  If you move on to website ownership, how does your website help people and provide SPECIFIC VALUE to them.

Finally, this takes us to creative.  If you happen to surf, then look for things that you find really creative.  Try to take away the essence from it.  Obviously, don’t screen shot the advertisement, use it for your own and then say look I’m being creative.  What I mean is if you look at enough creative ads, you will get a feeling of what creative means.  Study creative things to get an idea of what creativity is.

Final thoughts, to see things like this in practice for this industry, and I’m not saying we are perfect, just look around a site like Legacyhits, Cash Surfing Network, Tophits4u, and Click Track Profit.  They are great examples of programs that don’t look an ordinary piece of software from some commercial script.  See how the programs handle support, sales, and advertising.

Information is the New Currency?

In online business, even more so in our industry, information is a currency.  What I mean is it is very valuable.  Think of the traditional give away to collect an email address like an ebook or a free report.  The reason we use information is that it isn’t as costly as say a free pen(or any item you want to sub in here) given to everyone that signs up for your list.  You are simply passing on information from you or another.  It’s instant and close to free.

What is so fascinating with facebook, twitter, etc. is the rate at which communication can happen.  Massive communication is certainly a place where you want your business to be seen and talked about.  Just like collecting email addresses or signups in traffic exchanges, you collect twitter followers and facebook friends by giving value.  Again, with social media, the value you most likely will be providing is information.  Why?  It’s because its instant and close to free.  It can be spread rapidly and easily.

So it would seem that there would be two kinds of marketers that would be killing it in this environment.  One is a pure genius that is coming up with remarkable ideas that everyone wants to share on facebook, twitter, etc. and the other, a huge surprise here, is an organizer of information.

We can all pursue providing killer content from our hearts and minds, but, don’t forget that simply organizing information for others is very valuable, especially online.

Google organizes what we are looking for online and facebook/twitter organizes our communication with friends.  I’d say these organizers are killing it online, making huge businesses.  I’m sure there are countless others.

Hot Look Hot Topic Hot Meat?

Well, it’s Summer here in Washington State so I thought the subject of the post appropriate.  Alright, back to business.  When asked recently what I suggest for someone new coming into the industry I mentioned having a squeeze page to build a list.  Let me explain why…  if your new I expect that your not ready to have your website because of a lack of knowledge.  You may lack funds and/or contacts.  Building a list has the advantage of offering you repeat sales, relationship building, and the ability to let everyone know if you ever do launch a website(even if it’s just a blog).  Easy steps 1. Join Adkreator and create your own squeeze page. 2. Join Rocket Responder and create an email series. 3. Advertise it at the Cash Surfing Network. Done!  Would you like listbuilding described in a Video. Eric Goettman did a great job on it.

Now back to the subject of this post. Get your design looking good. You will probably want to experiment with adkreator until you are good at it. In the mean time I will design a squeeze page for you for free IF you are going to build your list with the Cash Surfing Network. I ask that you give it a minimum of over 1,000 hits, don’t waste my time please. If you want to build your list with something else I’ll design the page for 6.00 and an adkreator logo small with your referral link to adk will be on the bottom of it. My skype is mcwahl2 if you need any of the above.  That leads to hot topic. You will need to figure out what people will want to join your list for. Giving away information is a clever way. Hint: Maybe you want to tell people where to find the most hot bucks consistently from CSN ;).

Get as Specific as You Need to Thrive!

Oh you know me, sometimes I’m busy in deep thought thinking about how to help people earn.  Today is on focus and the small business person.  Remember that’s what you are if your a one person business or a handful of employees.  In some people’s opinion, the traffic exchange, ptc, and mailer industry or each on its own is a niche(specific enough target audience) when you compare it to the whole internet.  I encourage you to look at this matter in detail.  How much competition is there on how big of project you are tackling.  Where is your sweet spot for action on what your advertising(goal)?  Do you need something very specific such as a squeeze page for a list that offers a free report on where to find the most Hot Bucks?  At this point in time you would have a monopoly on that because no one is doing it.  Or, can you handle a free report on the best traffic exchanges, mailers, and paid to clicks which there is certainly competition for.  What approach is best for you?  Maybe you prefer to try multiple projects to find what you like working with and what makes you the most profit, a little trial and error.  I hope this helps discover the best you and the most profitable!
